Last week we tramped in to Pinnacles Hut, at the base of Mount Somers. Basing our self at the hut, we spent 3 days climbing. On day one we were planning to walk up to Fog Buttress crag but, due to the track being too wet and slippery, we had to turn around and we spent the better half of the afternoon climbing on the Pinnacles. Greg and I climbed a few cool grade 15 multi pitches and chilled out in the sun. On day two we went up to the Meat Grinder rocks for an awesome day of trad climbing. (Trad climbing is when you put in your own safety on your way up the climb.) After a long day we made our way back down to the hut. Day three started off overcast and almost raining, and after a few games of cards we practiced rope systems. As the weather cleared we headed up to Orange Rock for another awesome days climbing.
