After a slow start and not thinking that there had been enough rain we sat down and had a breakfast. Greg face booked Barny and he said it was good to go, we were out of the house in 5min flat! Picking up Barny on the way we raced down to catch up to the others. We caught up with the others in the gorge and paddled out from there as a big grope.

After every one meet up at the Do Duck in Bakery the three cars full of 4 boats on each we convoyed out to the Arahura. Walking up the amazing river was a good way to get rid of a hangover. Greg, Rata, Logan, Martijn and I dropped in to the gorge and meet up with the others. A little worm up and we were off, We made it to the swing bridge with no incidents, in-between the bridge and the take out Watson swam twice hehe.

Greg, Keith, Barney and i flu all the way up to the top and paddled down and meet up with Rata and Jordy part way down. We cought up with them just befor Scate Board raped whitch was one of my faverate drops. We all had an amazing day out and are planing to go up again in the spring!

In the morning we went up the Toaroha to get Gregs cracked boat back and then drove over to the Arahura and met up with Martijn, Sara and Astraea before walking up and having a really cool time!

Toharoha water fall

After a good night out, Rata, Greg, Martijn, and I set off to find the Toharoha water fall that we had heard of. Having been told that it was not much further than the normal put in, we took our time walking in. Time was getting on and still there was no sign of this water fall!! After a long and hard walk we finally made it!!!! The water fall is based at the bottom of the gorge, which has just been run for the first time not long ago. I dropped in first going rather deep and Martijn went next getting the best line of the day, Greg also went very deep, Rata came down last with a boof stroke sending her a little sideways. Apart from Greg cracking his boat and having to walk out it was a very cool day out!!

Fly in to the Whitcomb river with the team and Zak

Even with an early 5am start, a little trouble getting our boats out of the shed, someone has broken the key in the door :( , looked like delaying the start of what was to be an awesome trip. But Greg was able to take out the window and off we went!
We picked up Zak on our way to the chopper and still managed to get there in good time.
We flew out at 7.30am and were on the river just after 8am. This meant we had a long day and lots of amazing kayaking was to be had!
6hours later and we had all made it back to the car!!

Every thing went well, it was a little bit stress full showing every one else down the lines but every thing went smooth and every one but Grace ran the "drop" and every one styled it!!
